Arangetram

“Reaching the Stage”

The arangetram literally translates as ascending (yetram) the stage (arangam). After years of continuous, disciplined training and intense preparation, the student of dance presents the margam or repertoire of a 3 hour duration, before a discerning and appreciative audience. The arangetram celebrates a milestone in the students training and inspires the student to a new phase of growth in the dance, self discovery and a deeper engagement in the art form.
